Real machines. Real assessors. Real competency. We deliver nationally recognised plant operator and safety training for the civil and building construction industries - training built around what the job actually asks of you, not just what gets you across the line.
Pluto Training exists to put competent, confident operators on site. We're a registered training organisation delivering nationally recognised plant operations and safety training across Sydney and New South Wales and we measure ourselves on whether our students can actually do the work, not on how quickly we can process them.
Pluto Training Pty Ltd is an Australian-owned registered training organisation, RTO 46209, delivering nationally recognised training for the civil and building construction industries. We're regulated by the Australian Skills Quality Authority, and our registration runs to June 2029. We built Pluto around a straightforward observation: plenty of people finish a course holding a piece of paper but without enough real time on the machine to feel confident on their first day. A ticket earned that way helps nobody — not the operator standing in front of an excavator they've barely touched, and not the supervisor who has to trust them with it. So our training is built the other way round. Time on the plant comes first. Assessment is competency-based, which means you're not marked against a curve or given a percentage — you either demonstrate you can do the work safely and correctly, or we give you more support and another attempt. Two attempts are included as standard. Our scope of registration covers RII30820 Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations, along with skill sets and units spanning plant operations, civil works and workplace safety. Whether you need a single ticket for one machine or you're working toward the full qualification, you can start where it suits you and build from there — every unit you complete is credited, and you can stop at any point and keep what you've earned. We're deliberately a small operation. When you call, you speak to someone who knows your enrolment — not a call centre, and not a sales team working to a target. Our CEO, Dianne Hill, is directly involved in how training is delivered and assessed. That's also why we publish our prices openly, offer payment plans, and tell people plainly when a course isn't right for them. Everything we issue is nationally recognised and accepted by employers and training organisations anywhere in Australia. And because we know that a new provider has to earn trust rather than assert it, we'd encourage you to check us for yourself - our registration, our scope and our record are all public at training.gov.au.
To deliver training that produces genuinely competent operators - people who can work safely, confidently and independently from their first day on site and to make that training accessible, honest and free of the barriers that stop capable people getting qualified.
To be the training provider that civil and construction workers in New South Wales recommend to each other, because the training was practical, the assessment was fair, and the ticket meant something.
Safe operation isn't a box we tick at the start of the day. Hazard awareness, risk control and WHS obligations are built into every stage of how we train and assess, because that's how they work on site. We teach you to operate the machine, and we teach you to operate it safely - they're the same lesson.
A qualification should reflect real capability. Our assessment is designed around what the job genuinely requires: you show us you can do the work, in conditions that resemble the ones you'll face. Assessment is fair, flexible, and you have the right to have a decision reviewed if you disagree with it.
You learn to operate by operating. We build our courses around maximum practical time on real plant, under realistic conditions - not theory delivered at a desk with a few minutes in the seat at the end.
Being able to run a machine and being able to fill in a form are two different skills. If reading, writing or maths is a barrier for you, tell us - we'll adjust how we assess you so the paperwork never stops you proving what you can do. Every student gets a free pre-training review before enrolling, and support is available throughout.
